With a reputation for strong décors and design aesthetic, Emma Fairley is a detail-oriented Production Designer who comes from the multi-layered European tradition of decorating with narrative. She frequently collaborates with director Jonas Åkerlund, having recently wrapped the Netflix series Clark, starring Bill Skarsgård, and offering her expertise on projects including the award-winning Lords of Chaos and the Netflix/DC feature Polar, starring Mads Mikkelson and Vanessa Hudgens.

 

Emma’s first feature, The Anniversary Party (dir. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alan Cumming) won Best Independent Film (Spirit Awards) and “Un Certain Regard” at Cannes. Her recent work on the Warner Bros. series Mrs. Davis will premiere at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival.

Emma’s music video experience is impressive, having been nominated for numerous Best Production Designer Awards with the Art Director’s Guild for her work with Coldplay (2015), Madonna (2016), and Arianna Grande/Miley Cyrus/Lana Del Rey (2019). The dimension and strength of her work relies on historical references, contemporary ideas in fashion, and a fearlessness in color and originality. Her thoughtful approach to production design is also exemplified in her commercial work with brands such as Ikea, Target, Lexus, and L’oreal.

 

Emma is based in Los Angeles and works worldwide. She is fluent in French, English, and verbal Spanish.
