Hilda Rasula, ACE is a film and television editor based in Los Angeles. She was recently nominated for an ACE Eddie Award for her work on the literary satire American Fiction, directed by Cord Jefferson and starring Jeffrey Wright, Issa Rae, and Sterling K. Brown. The film won Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars and was nominated for Best Picture.
Hilda's previous feature credits include Paul Weitz's Moving On, B.J. Novak's Vengeance, and Azazel Jacobs' French Exit, all dark comedies. Her experience extends into television, having cut various critically acclaimed series including Amazon's Transparent, which won Best Series at the Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards and was nominated for an Emmy, and Apple TV's Little America, which received nominations from the Film Independent Spirit and BAFTA Awards. Other television credits include Rectify, Sorry for Your Loss, SMILF, and HBO's Our Flag Means Death, starring Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby.
In 2018 Hilda was inducted into the society of American Cinema Editors, and her work has been featured several times in CineMontage and Cinema Editor.
Hilda was raised in Los Angeles and has lived in Canada and France. After studying film at York University, she spent several years working on award-winning documentaries in Toronto, then returned to California to pursue a career in narrative filmmaking. Hilda’s interests in art, music, literature, and psychology continue to be strong influences in her editing.
