Michał Dymek is a Polish cinematographer whose recent work on Jesse Eisenberg's A Real Pain premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. He previously shot EO (dir. Jerzy Skolimowski), which premiered at Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Some of his other notable works include Sweat (dir. Mangus von Horn), Wolf (dir. Nathalie Biancheri) with Lily-Rose Depp, Hurrah, We Are Still Alive! (dir. Agnieszka Polska), and Dolce fine giornata (dir. Jacek Borcuch).
Michał’s experience extends past features, having shot commercials for brands including Adidas, McDonald’s, MBank, and Orange Energy. He has also shot music videos for artists such as The Dumplings, Chris Tall, and Daniel Bloom.
Michał’s keen eye and adept ability behind the camera are recognized by his various awards. Among these include Best Cinematography at the LA Film Critics Association Awards and the National Society of Film Critics Awards, USA for his work on EO, Best Cinematography at the Art Film Festival and Polish Film Festival for Sweat, and two Camerimage nominations—one for Supernova and another for Dolce fine giornata.
Most recently, Michał lensed Magnus von Horn's The Girl With the Needle, set to premiere at Cannes Film Festival and nominated for the Palme d'Or.
