Peter Sciberras is an Oscar-nominated and multi-award winning Australian film editor based in London.
Most notably, Sciberras edited Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog, for which he received over 15 nominations for Best Editing, including nominations from the Academy Awards, the ACE Awards, and the Critics Choice Awards. During that award season, Sciberras was also honored with various accolades including the Variety Artisans Award from Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Upcoming, Sciberras edited the historical drama Blitz directed by Steve McQueen. The film, which stars Saoirse Ronan and newcomer Elliott HeZernan, premiered as the opening film at the BFI London Film Festival on October 9, 2024 and subsequently premiered as the closing night film at the New York Film Festival on October 10, 2024. Blitz is currently in theaters and will launch globally on Apple TV+ on November 22, 2024.
Recently, Sciberras also edited Foe, directed by Garth Davis and starring Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and Aaron Pierre. The film was released on Prime Video on January 5, 2024.
Previous work includes David Michôd’s War Machine, The King (which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and for which he was nominated for an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award for “Best Editing” and Film Critics Circle of Australia Award for “Best Editor”), and The Rover (which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and for which he was nominated for an Awards Circuit Community Award for “Best Film Editing”).
