Dev Singh is a multi-award winning Canadian film editor whose work spans auteur-driven features, prestige genre, and limited series.

 

Most recently, Singh edited episodes of the Netflix limited series Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, featuring a powerhouse team including creator Haley Z. Boston, the Stranger Things duo the Duffer Brothers as executive producers, and Baby Reindeer’s director Weronika Tofilska. Upcoming for Singh is the Amazon thriller Bishop, created by Little Marvin, starring John Malkovich and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

 

Other notable series work includes Essex County, which earned Singh a DGC Award, The Porter and Little Dog, both of which won a Canadian Cinema Editor Award, Netflix’s Wayward, starring Toni Collette, and People of Earth, which was nominated for a Canadian Cinema Editors Award. 

 

Besides television, Singh’s feature film credits include the highly acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama 40 Acres, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and won a DGC Award for Singh’s editing; Lionsgate’s Spiral, starring Chris Rock as a hardened detective; Jeffrey St. Jules’ Cinema of Sleep, which received a CSA nomination for Singh’s editing; and Pascal Laugier’s Incident in a Ghostland, Adam McDonald’s Backcountry, and Kate Melville’s Picture Day, all of which Singh was nominated for a Canadian Cinema Editors Award.

 

With a background in VFX, Singh also brings his expertise to bigger budget action films, including Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City for Screen Gems, and additional editing on Rupert Wyatt’s Desert Warrior for AGC Studios. His storytelling approach is influenced by his exploration of sound design, experimental music, and interest in psychology.

 

Based in Toronto, Singh works internationally.
