kasra farahani
Kasra Farahani is an Emmy-nominated, award-winning Production Designer and Director known for creating richly imagined worlds that fuse bold visual identity with narrative purpose. Born in Iran and raised in Los Angeles after his family fled the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Farahani’s lifelong passion for storytelling and industrial design led him to the film industry.
He is widely recognized for his world-building on Marvel’s Loki, which earned him an ADG Award and an Emmy nomination, and for which he also stepped behind the camera to direct in the second season. Most recently, he served as Production Designer for Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps, earning nominations from the ADG, Critics Choice, and SDSA for its ambitious retro-futuristic vision.
Throughout his prolific career, Farahani has contributed to iconic films such as Avatar, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Black Panther, and Birds of Prey. His work is defined by a meticulous command of architecture and atmosphere, consistently translating complex narrative ideas into iconic, cinematic environments.
Having spent much of his career in the art departments of master filmmakers such as JJ Abrams, Steven Spielberg, Michael Mann, Tim Burton, James Cameron, and David Fincher, and inspired by the mastery of these filmmakers, Kasra hopes to tell stories that combine the power and scope of visual worlds with the substantive drama that comes from the conflict of well realized characters.
