Max Goldman received his Masters degree in Cinematography from the American Film Institute. While at AFI, he received the Forester scholarship honoring his excellence in cinematography. After graduating, Max began immediately shooting music videos. He quickly rose to the top the music video world shooting for such directors as Tim Burton. He spent his early years shooting small but important music videos for indie rock bands. His cinematography for music videos has garnered many nominations and awards, including an ‘09 and ’11 nominations from Camerimage (Located in Lodz, Poland, a prestigious cinematography based film festival). After cutting his teeth in music videos format, Max swiftly transitioned into shooting high profile and visually based commercials. He began lensing campaigns all over the world. His cinematography in commercials has been honored domestically by the AICP, while also winning a D&AD international cinematography award. Max continues to the travel the globe shooting artful commercial projects for the top international brands.
Recently, his success as a cinematographer has lead to opportunities in feature films and television. He continues his signature visual style in both long form and short films. Such as, Chloe Sevigny’s film White Echo which was honored at the 2019 Cannes film festival. Barney Clay’s SHOT! The Mantra of Rock premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2025 photographed episode 7 season two for Apple’s award winning show Severance.
