Natasha Braier, ASC, ADF is an internationally recognized cinematographer whose distinctive visuals elevate much of the auteur-driven work that dominates her widespread credits. Most recently, Natasha shot Boots Riley's eccentric I Love Boosters, which premiered at SXSW Film Festival and was nominated for the Headliners Audience Award. The film has been lauded for its surrealist and hopeful approach to anti-capitalism, with the LA Times labeling it a “maximalist delight”.
Braier’s inventive style is also evident in Alma Har'el's beautiful drama Honey Boy, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival and won the Vision and Craft Special Jury Prize. Braier was specifically recognized for her work on the film, earning nominations for the Film Independent Spirit Award and the ASC Spotlight Award. Her eye-catching visuals defined Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival and earned Best Cinematography from the Danish Academy Awards. She is no stranger to Cannes, with other festival-selected work including David Michod's crime/action The Rover and Lucia Puenzo's coming-of-age drama XXY, which won the Grand Prix, Audience Award, and Golden Rail from the Cannes Critics Week.
Other significant credits include Claudia Llosa's Oscar-nominated drama The Milk of Sorrow, which won the Golden Bear at Berlin Film Festival, and Maria Schrader's crime drama She Said, which chronicles the true story of Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, who broke the Harvey Weinstein scandal. Notably, her debut feature film, Glue (dir. Alexis Dos Santos), won the prestigious Tiger Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and garnered several cinematography accolades for its breakthrough visual style. A multi-award winning cinematographer, Braier’s bold approach focuses on transforming and realizing her director's vision.
