Originally from Seattle, Nick has been a lifelong lover of film, television, and storytelling. He graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle in 2001 and moved to LA in 2002 where he went from PA to editor on his first feature, and thus, after a short stint delivering pizza’s, began his editing career. He built up his career working in the many facets of production and post from editorial to art department, VFX and online editorial, and a short stint in the breakdance scene filming and editing with the b-boy name “St. Nick”.
By 2010, Nick began editing in advertising, and quickly rose through the ranks in commercial editing. Many of the projects he has worked on have received accolades in the Clio Awards, Shorty Awards, Telly Awards, Berlin Music Video Awards, and Addy Awards. A number of films he has cut have also been showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, and Slamdance.
With his sights set on establishing himself as a well rounded Film and TV Editor, Nick recently cut Butcher’s Crossing, Gabe Polsky’s anti-western starring Nicolas Cage, which premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, as well Your Lucky Day starring Angus Cloud, due out in 2023. Nick still lives in LA with his wife and 2 kids, with another on the way, and maintains a deep passion for film editing across mediums and genres.
